The Executive meeting combined with the general meeting was opened at 15.05. The president welcomed the members and expressed gratitude for their contribution also in the Executive layout of the year 2012 Guss projects/activities to meet the general meeting of the same day.

Independence Day celebration in March
The chairman suggested a quiet celebration. Since this year is an election year in Ghana, the union can consider a topic which goes with the election. Baba Ibrahim suggested a topic about the type of democratic system going on in Africa. It seems most of the politics is ethnic based. 16th or 24th March were suggested by the vice president Grace Mahama as possible dates considering the availabilty of a place for the meeting. The 24th of March was agreed upon. It was decided that the Friendship Association will be contacted to attend the occasion. It was also agreed that some other Africans be invited to join the Union on the occassion of the discussions on African democracy.
Union Picnic, 9th June
This will be held together with AFRIS. The Cameroon and Nigerian unions will organise the occasion.
Women's day September 29th
After lengthy discussions the meeting agreed that we should wait a little with what needs to be discussed.
Christmas party
Ghana Union will organize some get-together in December
Baba Ibrahim advised the need for the Executive to meet regularly to feed the General meeting with more information on whatever comes up and plans for the Union. He also raised the possibilities of some special projects to gain some grants for the Union coffers. Jawad Mohammed, the union new member, expressed support for Baba's suggestion.
Gladys Agbo suggested that the union could arrange some kind of information day on the question of the Swedish Pension system since it seems quite complicated for some of us to understand.
Att 16.35 George Adu-Boahene called for the meeting to come to close and was quickly seconded by Felix Asare.
